About Mary Chiappone

With a strong desire to help others heal through natural and holistic treatments, Mary earned her A.A.S. in Massage Therapy from North Country Community College in 2011 and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science from SUNY Potsdam with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, with a pre-med focus. She continued her education at Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, receiving her master’s degree in Acupuncture. With a passion for learning, Mary is continuing her education by becoming certified in craniosacral therapy and in 2024 she earned her Doctorate of Acupuncture from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Mary opened Treating The Root in 2018 with a goal to provide customized healing and pain relief treatments for veterans and the Watertown community. When she is not in the office, Mary is known for her charitable giving and work with children through the Sheep Dog Program. She is also a volunteer EMT.

We specialize in glass cupping therapy using original techniques. This treatment stimulates blood flow, reduces inflammation, helps with pain relief, and provides plenty of healing benefits.
